~6 Appendix: Radiesthesia – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
Interesting facts about radiesthesia taken from technical literature as well as our own experience:
~6.1 What’s “radiesthesia”?
Definition:
Radiesthesia is a Latin-Greek word combination of:
radius = ray and
aisthesis od aisthanomai = experience, feel.
That’s:
radiesthesia = perception of rays, sense for rays.
~6.2 Since when has radiesthesia been existing?
Radiesthesia is as old as mankind.
Since the 14th century B.C. literature has been reporting about the application of rods and pendulums for dowsing and searching for raw materials like ore (raw materials exploration, siting of mines).
Cornerstones in Spanish history in radiesthesia:
In the 15th/16th century AD, in Spain, the “Zahoris” were able to detect water veins and mineral resources without rod and pendulum. It was sufficient for them to concentrate on the thing they wanted to find.
Today dowsers aren’t well-known in Spain except in Southern Spain (Andalusia) where one can find dowsers in nearly every village.
Cornerstones in Arabic history in radiesthesia:
The 8,000 year-old rock-paintings of Tassili in the northern part of the Sahara show a rod and a pendulum.
Sculptures and paintings of priests holding crotches and pendulums were found as burial objects in sepultures of Pharaos (ancient Egyptian empire 3,000 to 300 B.C.) in the Valley of Kings in Egypt.
At archeological excavations in Babylon (2,000 B.C.) a crotched stick was found.
At the same time a relief of a dowser (culture group of the Hetither), who live in contemporary Turkey, was found.
Literature suggests that the wife of Joseph, Asbeneth, found water with the aid of a dowsing rod in Egypt 1,900 B.C.
Today the occupation of a dowser is widespread in a lot of Arabic countries (for example in Syria).
~6.3 Science or charlatanism?
Practitioners of radiesthesia / charlatans:
Radiesthesia is a science. The work of practitioners of radiesthesia is called “Perception” (German: “Mutung”) and denotes the qualified “perception of rays”. This has nothing to do with the word “assumption”, because that would mean “believe, guess, hope”.
Attention: percept (German: “muten”) has nothing to do with assume.
Because a lot of people regard this ability as mystic, inexplicable or peculiar there are also a lot of charlatans in this business.
~6.4 How does it work?
Effect:
The human body (particularly the nervous system in the spinal column) perceives atomic, electric and magnetic energies as ray, oscillation, vibration or impetus.
The practitioner of radiesthesia is able to perceive these energies in his/her body and indicates these energies through different apparatuses (dowsing rod, pendulum, eco-tensors). The finger, hand and arm musculature of the dowser moves these apparatuses guided by the subconscious mind.
The human being serves as some kind of universal measurement instrument.
~6.5 Who can do it?
Inherent abilities:
The sense for rays is existent as instinct in animals and small children. The perception of rays of adults is latent existent in the relation 7:10. That means that 7 out of 10 adults bear this ability and just have to “kiss alive” this ability.
The biophysical effect of consulting the pendulum, dowsing and eco-tensoring is some kind of sixth sense.
~6.6 Can one learn it and how?
Talent / training centers:
If a human being is sensible for rays (7 out of 10), one will be able to learn to a certain extent consulting the pendulum, dowsing and eco-tensoring. But it’s the same thing as with every talent, the degree of talent is relevant for the degree of mastery. This situation is comparable with the learning of a musical instrument: Unmusical people can learn how to play the recorder, but they will never become soloists.
Furthermore one needs sufficient practice and experience in order to indicate the ingredients of water, the amount in liters per minute/second which can be expected, and the approximate depth in meters.
The above mentioned dowsers offer seminars and hold courses upon request in Austria and Switzerland.
